Ja Rule heads to prison; plenty of time for Social Media, Hootsuite

Social Media Marketing

We couldn’t help but notice a couple things yesterday.

  1. Fat Joe is no longer fat
  2. Ja Rule is no longer free

We’re happy to see that Fat Joe or Joey Crack won’t be choking on a cheeseburger any time soon, but we can’t help feeling nostalgic over the shed pounds we came to love during our childhood.

Formerly Fat Joe used to team up with Ja Rule, who won’t be teaming up with anyone for the next to years.

Ja Rule turned himself in Wednesday to begin serving two years in New York state prison stemming from a weapons-related arrest in 2007. The sentence came down after the rapper, real name Jeffrey Atkins, entered a guilty plea in December on attempted criminal possession of a weapon.

Ja Rule Social Media and Hootsuite

This isn’t the first time Atkins has been in trouble with the law, having passed on paying taxes a few times during the 2000s.

The IRS would obviously take issue with his song “Always on Time.”

We decided to do a little snooping into Ja’s Social Media presence and found that the rapper has a fairly active Twitter account (@RULEYORK and a very inactive Facebook account.

Maybe he just doesn’t have time for both.

But now that Ja has some downtime, we thought he might want to take a renewed look at his Social Media efforts, and one tool that would help him maximize his time is Hootsuite.

We’re not sure how if he’s allowed to watch video in the clink, but we put together these on getting up and running with Hootsuite so he can start using his time effectively.
