The men that founded Heroku include Adam Wiggins, Orion Henry, and James Lindenbaum. The created this application by using a projects that were compatible with Rack. However, it was expanded in a way that it could also support Node.js and Clojure projects as well. The Heroku application was originally founded by Redpoint Ventures and Y Combinator, but later it was able to support on it’s on in 2008 with $3 million.
Byron Sebastian became the CEO of the company for Heroku in 2009, and he started building out the platform for it so that it would grow a lot quicker. In 2011, the creator of Ruby Programming language, Matz, had joined Heroku in becoming the main architect for Ruby. Heroku was introduced to Facebook later on in the year of 20112, September 15th of 2011 to be precise. Now people were able to have their own applications running on Facebook.
There are currently various new features that are being added to the Heroku program throughout the year.
