Prior to joining the team in the Los Angeles offices, Yusuf lived in Lincoln, NE, developing e-commerce sites for local merchants.
He took the job sight-unseen and was blown away when he flew over Santa Monica.
"I had literally never seen the ocean before," he says, laughing. "I was just amazed at how big it was!"
And Yusuf's quick contributions have amazed the Gunner team, where there is a solid onboarding process to get new hires up and running fast, but Yusuf took it to a whole other level.
"I was just so excited to be a member of a team," he says. "I always worked solo, so I wanted to get in, learn the process and start contributing."
And that's exactly what he did when he jumped onto the Shudi project and helped power it through to the finish line.
Since then, he's moved on to other projects, but that's still his favorite.
"Up until that point, all of my work in React Native had been experimentation," he says. "Putting something into production for the world to use was amazing. I can't wait for the next release."
